Restaurant to Bring More Than 120 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Back Bay Neighborhood 


BOSTON (Jan. 5, 2021) – Boston’s first Chick-fil-A® restaurant is slated to open for business in Copley Square on Wednesday, Jan. 5. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Matt DeMichele-Rigoni as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Copley Square. DeMichele-Rigoni will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing more than 120 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Chick-fil-A Copley Square is located at 569 Boylston St., at the intersection of Boylston Street and Clarendon Street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, and will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday. 

Chick-fil-A remains committed to serving guests safely. Chick-fil-A Copley Square will open for carry-out service only. Guests can take advantage of contactless ordering and payment through the free Chick-fil-A® App or through online ordering. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Copley Square will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in Boston with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Boston area to aid in the fight against hunger. 

Locally Owned and Operated 
Chick-fil-A Copley Square is locally owned and operated by Matt DeMichele-Rigoni. A Boston native, DeMichele-Rigoni started his career with Chick-fil-A as a Team Member at a restaurant location in a mall just outside of the city. After working as a Team Member at two other locations, he transitioned to serving as the Operations Director and as a Grand Opening Trainer for restaurants in the surrounding area. His first and only job, DeMichele-Rigoni describes his journey with Chick-fil-A as a vital part of growing up and views his fellow Chick-fil-A employees as his family.  

After more than 14 years of learning the ins and outs of Chick-fil-A business, DeMichele-Rigoni looks forward to establishing a “home away from home” atmosphere for his Team Members at Chick-fil-A Copley Square. Alongside his husband, João, DeMichele-Rigoni is thrilled to serve the Boston community with great-tasting food and genuine hospitality.  

“I am thrilled to introduce Chick-fil-A to the Boston community, and I look forward to our restaurant serving as a place where all Team Members and guests are welcomed and shown care,” said DeMichele-Rigoni. “I am proud to call Boston my home, and I look forward to building new relationships and welcoming the community into our new restaurant.”
