Restaurant Brings Approximately 140 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes With Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
HONOLULU (Nov. 30, 2023) – The first free-standing Chick-fil-A® restaurant on Oʻahu will begin serving the Kapolei community on Friday, December 8, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Oʻahu-native Spencer Goo as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway.
Located at 91-5480 Kapolei Parkway, in the Hoʻomaka Marketplace, Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway can place an order on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase which can be used to redeem available rewards. Third-party delivery will be available in the near future.
Kapolei Parkway joins two other Chick-fil-A restaurants on the island of Oʻahu and will become the fourth restaurant serving the state of Hawaiʻi.
Locally Owned and Operated
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators proudly reside in the areas in which they serve.
In Kapolei, Goo will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 140 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Goo, who was born and raised on Oʻahu and graduated from Kahuku High School, is delighted to be back home on the island with his wife and six children. Goo was first introduced to Chick-fil-A while pursuing other business ventures on the mainland and was immediately energized by Chick-fil-A’s signature hospitality, which stuck with him even through career changes. As the years went by, Goo always knew he wanted to be involved with a company known for a superb level of care, and his dreams came true when he was selected as a local Owner-Operator for Chick-fil-A in his home state of Hawaiʻi.
“My journey with Chick-fil-A has truly been a family affair. I wouldn’t be here today without the support of my wife and children. I even had the honor of serving alongside two of my children as Chick-fil-A Team Members, which was such a rewarding experience,” said Goo. “Together with my family, we look forward to being your neighbor – as members of the community and as the team behind Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway! This is a homecoming for me, so I look forward to re-connecting with loved ones, friends and old classmates over a classic Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich at the new restaurant, so come on in to see us!”
Caring for the Kapolei Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Hawaiʻi Foodbank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant. As the largest hunger relief organization in the State of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Foodbank provides important nourishment to an average of 140,000 people each month.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Kapolei area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Goo’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. When there is surplus food, Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway will donate it to Aloha Harvest, a local nonprofit organization focused on eliminating hunger and food waste. To date, more than 23 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from nearly 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Our Restaurant Experience
At more than 5,000 sq. ft., the restaurant will seat 101 guests inside. The restaurant will feature subtle design touches to honor the local culture and community including Hawaiian language, native landscaping and local design motifs.
Chick-fil-A restaurant Team Members will greet customers in the dual-lane drive-thru line in-person and will take each guest’s orders on a tablet. As the order-taker walks the line, another restaurant Team Member will come to the customer’s car to take payment, allowing vehicles to move through more quickly than they do at a traditional speaker box drive-thru. To ensure restaurant Team Members working in the drive-thru line are comfortable in warm weather, Chick-fil-A partnered with clothing brands that design cooling vests and moisture-wicking uniforms.
Team Member Investment
Chick-fil-A Operators are committed to hiring, developing and retaining top talent and providing a positive work environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. Team Members have opportunities for flexible work hours and leadership growth, competitive pay and benefits, hands-on training and mentoring and the chance to apply for scholarships to support their continuing education.
Quality Ingredients; Delicious Food
Chick-fil-A restaurants focus on serving customers great-tasting food made with quality ingredients. The produce used in recipes is delivered to kitchens up to six times a week. Chick-fil-A restaurants serve chicken raised with No Antibiotics Ever, starting from the egg. By not allowing antibiotics of any kind, Chick-fil-A chicken meets the highest commitment for non-antibiotic use.
Guests of Chick-fil-A Kapolei Parkway will be able to enjoy breakfast options like the iconic Chick-n-Minis® entree, Chick-fil-A® Chicken Biscuits, Hash Brown Scramble Bowl and more from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., when the restaurant will then change over to its classic Chick-fil-A® Menu.
