Restaurant Brings Approximately 125 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year
WICHITA, Kan. (Aug. 22, 2022) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Wichita community on Wednesday, August 24. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Andrew Nelson as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A K96 & Greenwich Rd.
Located at 2400 N Greenwich Rd., Chick-fil-A K96 & Greenwich Rd will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A K96 & Greenwich Rd can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase which can be used to redeem available rewards. The K96 & Greenwich Rd restaurant joins more than eight other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Wichita market.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In Wichita, Nelson will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 125 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Nelson joined Chick-fil-A in 2009, starting as a leader at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Tulsa, Okla. With a goal to become a Chick-fil-A Operator one day, Nelson finished college with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. In 2012, Nelson joined Chick-fil-A’s Leadership Development Program, where he traveled across the country to support new restaurant openings. Following the successful completion of the program, he was selected as an Operator for a new location in Derby, Kan. in 2014. Nelson served as an Operator for two years before joining Chick-fil-A Central & Rock Road as an Operator in Wichita, Kan.
Nelson, his wife Natasha and their three daughters have resided in Wichita since 2014 and are active members of the community. Nelson most recently served on the board of the Andover YMCA and is currently an Honorary Commander for McConnell Air Force Base. He is also an Operator Coach for new Chick-fil-A Operators across the Midwest and serves as an Operator Consultant for Chick-fil-A Wichita State University. Nelson will now operate both Chick-fil-A Central & Rock Road and Chick-fil-A K96 & Greenwich Rd.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to open Chick-fil-A K96 & Greenwich Rd and add value to the growing Wichita community,” said Nelson. “It is my hope that our restaurant has a positive impact on every person we come into contact with, and that we can create a place where Team Members and guests feel welcomed and cared for.”
Caring for the Wichita Community
In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Wichita area to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A K96 & Greenwich Rd is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Wichita area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.
Nelson’s restaurant will be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ Program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need.
