Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.
In Columbia, Stubbs will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Columbia community’s needs.
Stubbs grew up in Columbia and has resided in South Carolina for most of his life. Living in the southeast, he frequently visited Chick-fil-A, which was one of his go-to spots while traveling across the country playing competitive tennis. After graduating from college, Stubbs became the head tennis coach at a local university and owned his own tennis academy. After several years, he reached out to a Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operator in his community to learn more about the business and, following months of research, left his job to work full-time at Chick-fil-A Cherry Road in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In 2021, he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck, North Dakota. Now, Stubbs is thrilled to return home to serve the Columbia community.
“Columbia is a place that’s close to my heart, and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to serve here," Stubbs said. "We want to be known as a restaurant that cares for our community, and with our newly designed restaurant, my Team Members and I are excited to serve our Guests with excellent food and warm hospitality.”
Local Investment in the Columbia Community
The Chick-fil-A business is built to add positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators are empowered to support the neighborhoods they serve with a key focus on hunger, education, and specific community needs.
Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators strive to hire, develop and retain top talent, helping future leaders optimize their skills and providing pathways for personal and professional developing in a welcoming, purpose-driven environment.
