Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Oct. 8, 2024) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Montgomery community on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Gary Soriano as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Taylor & Vaughn.
Located at 8090 Vaughn Road, Chick-fil-A Taylor & Vaughn will be open from 6 a. m. to 9 p. m., Monday through Saturday for dine-in, drive-thru, carry-out, and Mobile Thru, a dedicated lane in the drive-thru where Guests can pick up orders placed on the Chick-fil-A® App. Because Chick-fil-A restaurants are designed to serve the unique needs of each community, Chick-fil-A Taylor & Vaughn will also feature a playground to serve Guests with children.
The Taylor & Vaughn restaurant joins more than nine other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Montgomery-Selma market.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.
Soriano and his leadership team will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Montgomery community’s needs.
Soriano began his 47-year career with Chick-fil-A in 1977 as a Team Member at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Montgomery. He spent several years learning the ins and outs of the business and developing his leadership skills before being selected as the local Owner-Operator of a Chick-fil-A in Auburn, Alabama in 1983. Soriano spent nearly a decade developing young talent, connecting with the community and earning company-wide awards for his leadership and his team’s service.
He returned to Montgomery in 1992 and has operated multiple Chick-fil-A restaurants since, including Chick-fil-A East Chase, which he will continue to operate alongside this new restaurant. Soriano has dedicated his career to making a positive impact in the community and takes pride in sharing the family business. His wife, Tina, is an integral part of his leadership team, coaching restaurant Team Members, and both of his children have continued the family legacy, becoming Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators themselves.
“We are humbled by the opportunity to reach even more people in this community that we care about so much,” said Soriano. “We’ve been here for more than 30 years. We’ve raised our family here and our Guests are like family. Our team is looking forward to bringing the same delicious food and community connection to Chick-fil-A Taylor & Vaughn.”
Caring for the Montgomery Community
The Chick-fil-A business is built to add positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators are empowered to support the neighborhoods they serve with a key focus on hunger, education and specific community needs.
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the Montgomery area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Soriano’s restaurant is participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 30 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,200 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Taylor & Vaughn is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Montgomery area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Team Member Investment
Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators strive to hire, develop and retain top talent, helping future leaders optimize their skills and providing pathways for personal and professional development in a welcoming, purpose-driven environment. A career at Chick-fil-A offers a wide range of benefits, including hands-on training and mentoring, competitive pay and benefits, the chance to apply for scholarships to support continued education, and the flexibility to thrive in and outside of work. Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are committed to preparing their team for the future, wherever it may lead. To learn more about careers at Chick-fil-A, click here.
In 1979, Soriano was awarded the $1,000 Chick-fil-A Remarkable FuturesTM Scholarship, which covered a full year of his college tuition. Over the years, Team Members at his restaurants have been awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to pursue higher education. Since 1973, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has provided $191 million in scholarships to more than 105,000 Team Members across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
