Why do Chick-fil-A Team Members and employees say “My Pleasure?"
Since Truett Cathy was eight years old, he embodied the feel-good power of customer service. From selling bottles of Coca-Cola door-to-door as a young boy to going the extra mile when delivering newspapers, Truett continuously sought out ways to show care through the little things that can make someone’s day.
When Truett and his brother Ben opened a 24-hour diner called the Dwarf Grill (now known as The Dwarf House® restaurant), their mission of putting people first and developing relationships with customers could be seen both inside and outside of the restaurant. Years later while visiting a high-end hotel, Truett noticed one employee responded to his thanks with a sincere “my pleasure.” Truett wanted all his Guests to feel the same special way that he felt when he heard the phrase. Returning home, Truett decided to ask Chick-fil-A's local Owner-Operators, Team Members and corporate staff to implement and respond with “my pleasure” whenever someone said thank you.
Over the years, “my pleasure” has become much more than a phrase – it embodies Chick-fil-A's commitment of creating remarkable experiences, one interaction at a time.
