Restaurant Brings Approximately 115 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year
GASTONIA, N.C. (June 28, 2022) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Gastonia community on Thursday, June 30. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Nolan Hatley as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Cox Rd.
Located at 424 Cox Rd, down the street from the recently closed Chick-fil-A Franklin Square location, Chick-fil-A Cox Rd will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Cox Rd can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Cox Rd restaurant joins more than 65 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Charlotte market.

In Gastonia, Hatley will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 115 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Chick-fil-A has been a part of Hatley’s life for as long as he can remember. After eating at Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout his childhood, Hatley decided to become a Team Member at the age of 14 at Chick-fil-A Concord Mills in Concord, N.C. There, he learned the ins and outs of the business and even received a scholarship from Chick-fil-A in 2006 to attend the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Hatley graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business and soon became the Operator of Chick-fil-A Quaker Bridge Mall in 2010. He is excited to open up Chick-fil-A Cox Rd’s doors and relocate his wife Gillian and their 3-year-old son Riley to the Gastonia community.
“I want my restaurant to be a place where people feel cared for,” said Hatley. “I look forward to connecting and building relationships with my Team Members and guests throughout the community.”
Caring for the Gastonia Community
In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A Cox Rd is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Gastonia area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.
Hatley’s restaurant will be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ Program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need.
