Restaurant Brings Approximately 140 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year
LANDOVER HILLS, Md. (Jan. 3, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Landover Hills community on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Jessie Chesson as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Capital Plaza.
Located at 6150 Annapolis Road, Chick-fil-A Capital Plaza will be open for dine-in, drive-thru, curbside and carry-out from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Capital Plaza can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Capital Plaza restaurant joins 93 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Washington, D.C. market.

In Landover Hills, Chesson will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 140 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
As a Maryland native and Prince George’s County resident, Chesson has spent most of her life in the area and values the opportunity to give back to her local community. Inspired by the brand’s entrepreneurial spirit and customer service focus, Chesson joined Chick-fil-A in 2015 as the Operator of Chick-fil-A DC USA, the restaurant company's first restaurant in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining Chick-fil-A, Chesson earned a bachelor’s degree from Howard University and a master’s from George Washington University and spent 20 years in corporate marketing and advertising. In addition to Chick-fil-A Capital Plaza, Chesson will continue to operate Chick-fil-A Dakota Crossing and serve as an Operator consultant at Chick-fil-A Union Station.
“I look forward to expanding the positive impact Chick-fil-A and my team will have on the greater Washington, D.C. and Landover Hills community,” said Chesson. “My vision for Chick-fil-A Capital Plaza is to provide exceptional service and hospitality by fostering a fun and safe place to work, visit and enjoy delicious food.”
Caring for the Landover Hills Community
In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Washington, D.C. area to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Capital Plaza is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Landover Hills area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.
Chesson’s restaurant plans on participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ Program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need.

To complement the great-tasting chicken, fresh produce is delivered to Chick-fil-A restaurants up to six times a week for the best quality and flavor.
