Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
LAFAYETTE, La. (August 1, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant began serving the Lafayette community today, Tuesday, August 1. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected John Arton as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Johnston St. & Ridge Rd.
Located at 5300 Johnston Street in Lafayette, Chick-fil-A Johnston St. & Ridge Rd. will be open for dine-in, drive-thru, and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Guests of the restaurant can place an order for pickup, dine-in on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards.
The Johnston St. & Ridge Rd. restaurant joins five other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Lafayette market.

Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by independent, franchised Operators who proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
At Chick-fil-A Johnston St. & Ridge Rd., Arton will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 125 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Arton started working at Chick-fil-A in 1979 and has since dedicated his career to serving the Lafayette and Acadiana communities. Having grown up in the area, Arton proudly got his start as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Acadiana Mall. Since then, and throughout his 44-year career, he has continued to instill strong values of caring for guests and his Team Members as the Operator of multiple Chick-fil-A restaurants. In addition to Chick-fil-A Johnston St. & Ridge Rd., Arton will continue to operate his other locations in the Lafayette area. He remains committed to engaging with the community through partnerships with local organizations, donating to local food banks and awarding scholarships to local students. The Arton family has consistently invested in the education of Team Members across their restaurants. Through the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarships Initiative, as well as through personal scholarships awarded by his family, Team Members have received more than $250,000 to go toward their education over Arton's long-standing tenure with the Company.

In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A Johnston St. & Ridge Rd. is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Lafayette area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
In addition, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Lafayette area to aid in the fight against hunger.
This newest restaurant, along with Arton’s other locations, will participate in Chick-fil-A Shared Table®, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
