SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO (February 23, 2022) – Chick-fil-A, the number 1 chicken restaurant in the United States, is proud to welcome its customers to the first locally owned franchise restaurant in Puerto Rico, located at Calle A Minillas 250 of the Industrial Park in Bayamón, PR. Chick-fil-A Los Filtros will open its doors on Thursday, March 3 and will be open from 6:30 am to 9 pm, Monday through Saturday. 
 
Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Caitlin Chavez as Independent Owner/Operator of the Chick-fil-A Los Filtros franchise. Chávez will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including: employing approximately 150 full-time and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations, neighboring businesses, and serving customers. 

Chick-fil-A remains committed to serving customers safely and continually adjusts its operations to help protect its Operators, restaurant Team Members, and customers. Currently, Chick-fil-A Los Filtros will open with drive-thru, carry-out and limited capacity in the dining room. Local Owners and Operators  
As the first Chick-fil-A Operator on the island, Chávez is passionate about inspiring the next generation of business leaders while building a culture of friendliness at her restaurant.

Impacting the local community  
To celebrate the opening of the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Puerto Rico, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $200,000 to Banco de Alimentos Puerto Rico, directly supporting those most at risk of food insecurity and reinforcing the efforts of disaster relief.  
 
Chavez's restaurant will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ program, which helps restaurant owners fight hunger in their local communities. The initiative redirects excess restaurant food to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and charities in need. Chick-fil-A Filters will do its part to reduce food waste in your kitchen with a "cook less, more often" approach, reducing or eliminating the amount of food left unserved. When there is excess food, Chick-fil-A Los Filtros will donate it to a local community partner. Since 2012, the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program has donated more than 12 million meals to those in need in the United States and Canada.

The famous Chick-fil-A® Original Chicken Sandwich is made with chicken breast fillet seasoned to perfection, freshly breaded, pressure-cooked in 100% refined peanut oil and served on a buttered toasted bun with two pickles. It is also available in multigrain bread.

At its Puerto Rico restaurants, Chick-fil-A will serve 100% locally grown and roasted coffee in Puerto Rico. Bringing customers together 
In the center of the Chick-fil-A Los Filtros dining room, customers can enjoy their meal at a communal table, known as Our Table, handcrafted by someone who has claimed their life. Just like our clients, each table has a story. This table was made and designed by Erick Colón Maldonado of EC Interiors, an artist from Naranjito who turned the challenges of Hurricane Maria and the pandemic into an opportunity to create his own company. Chick-fil-A's design team worked with Erick to develop Nuestra Mesa that represents the resiliency and beauty of Puerto Rico and its people. 
 
Servi-Car Experience  
Chick-fil-A Restaurant Team Members will personally greet customers in the drive-thru line and take each customer's order on a tablet. As the order taker walks the line, another Team Member from the restaurant will approach the customer's vehicle to collect, allowing carts to move faster than a traditional drive-thru with loudspeaker horns. To ensure restaurant Team Members who work the drive-thru line feel comfortable in any weather, Chick-fil-A has partnered with clothing brands that design military-spec cooling vests and moisture-wicking uniforms.
