Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 14, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Louisville community on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Micah Childs as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Preston Highway.
Located at 10501 Preston Highway, Chick-fil-A Preston Highway will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Preston Highway can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Preston Highway restaurant joins 12 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Louisville market.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In Louisville, Childs will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Childs’s career with Chick-fil-A began as a teenager, where he served as a Team Member at Chick-fil-A Signal Hill Mall in Statesville, North Carolina. He continued his journey with Chick-fil-A in Louisville throughout college and has since been serving the Louisville community for more than two decades in various roles as a Team Member, General Manager, and now as the local Owner/Operator at Chick-fil-A Jefferson Commons and Chick-fil-A Preston Highway. Childs will remain the Operator of Chick-fil-A Jefferson Commons, where it is a truly a family business with his wife also working at the restaurant. Together they have six children and are excited to continue serving the Louisville community.
“I look forward to expanding our influence and impact through growing leaders, both for Chick-fil-A and for our community,” Childs said. “With this new restaurant, I’m excited to serve the Louisville community in a larger capacity and continue to show care for my Team Members and our guests.”
Caring for the Louisville Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Dare to Care Food Bank, a certified member of Feeding America, in honor of the new restaurant. The organization is special to Childs as he nominated Dare to Care for the 2022 True Inspiration Awards, where the nonprofit was ultimately selected as a grant recipient for the Atlantic Region.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Preston Highway is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Louisville area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Childs’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
