Restaurant Brings Approximately 120 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Feb. 12, 2024) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Riverside community on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Scott Kisow as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Van Buren Blvd. & Arlington Ave.
Located at 6299 Van Buren Blvd., Chick-fil-A Van Buren Blvd. & Arlington Ave. will be open for drive-thru, carry-out and delivery from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Designed for speed and efficiency, this drive-thru only location offers added convenience to serve Guests through its drive-thru and a walk-up window for carry-out, along with an outdoor seating area.
The Chick-fil-A Van Buren Blvd. & Arlington Ave. restaurant joins more than 100 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Los Angeles market.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.
In Riverside, Kisow will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 120 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Kisow has served the Riverside community for more than 30 years working in the local restaurant industry. His journey with Chick-fil-A was inspired by his mentor, Mark Howery, the local Owner-Operator of two Chick-fil-A restaurants in the south Orange County area. Kisow, alongside his daughter, began working with Howery to learn the ins and outs of the business. Kisow was then selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Van Buren Blvd. & Arlington Ave. The entire Kisow family will be a part of the team at the new restaurant, including his wife Janelle, their daughter and two sons.
“While I’ve had the pleasure of serving the Riverside community for decades, I’m looking forward to this new opportunity to connect and show care to our Guests,” Kisow said. “Our family is excited to continue building long-lasting relationships in this community, and our team is eager to serve!”

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Los Angeles area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Kisow’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 25 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Van Buren Blvd. & Arlington Ave. is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Riverside area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
