Restaurant Company to Double its Community Investment and Statewide Footprint

DETROIT (September 4, 2024) – Chick-fil-A® is furthering its investment in the state of Michigan with approximately 25 - 30 new locally owned and operated restaurants set to open across the Mitten State by the end of 2028. These new restaurants will create over 2,500 jobs across Michigan.

Statewide Growth
In 2015, Chick-fil-A introduced its signature hospitality and delicious food to Michigan and has steadily grown its footprint to serve Guests at 28 restaurants across the state. Over the next few years, Michiganders can anticipate new restaurants in areas including:

•  Detroit/Ann Arbor: Upcoming restaurants include Chesterfield Township, Roseville, Taylor and Fort Gratiot slated to open this Fall/Winter. Additional growth includes a licensed location in the First National Building, and locally owned and operated restaurants in Detroit, Auburn Hills, Lincoln Park, Orion Township, Clinton Township, Canton and Ann Arbor.
•   Lansing/Jackson: Two restaurants slated to open in 2025.
•   Flint-Saginaw: One restaurant in Saginaw slated for 2025.
•   Benton Harbor: One restaurant is slated for 2025.

“With a unique blend of rural, suburban and city neighborhoods, Michigan is filled with tight-knit communities and proud residents. When looking to identify new opportunities to serve Guests and support local communities and economic development, expanding our presence in Michigan was a clear next step,” said Scott Mayson, Area Director for the Midwest Region. “For nearly a decade, our passionate local Owner-Operators have been serving the Great Lakes region, where they are committed to attracting and developing top talent, delivering delicious food and our signature hospitality, and building meaningful relationships in their communities. We are grateful for the opportunity to expand our care for Team Members and Guests with new restaurants across Michigan.”

Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.

Day-to-day activities of the business include employing approximately 80 - 120 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the community’s needs.

We are seeking franchise candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and a CEO mindset, who are passionate about serving great food and providing exceptional hospitality in a fast-paced environment. Learn more about franchising opportunities by visiting our Franchising page

Team Member Investment
Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators strive to hire, develop and retain top talent, helping future leaders optimize their skills and providing pathways for personal and professional development in a welcoming, purpose-driven environment. A career at Chick-fil-A offers a wide range of benefits, including hands-on training and mentoring, competitive pay and benefits, the chance to apply for scholarships to support continued education, and the flexibility to thrive in and outside of work.

As part of the Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures™ Scholarships initiative, Chick-fil-A has awarded $1,173,000 worth of scholarships to Team Members in Michigan since 2017 to support continued education.
