Restaurants will bring approximately 200 jobs to the region and donate $50,000 to Feeding America
ALBANY, N.Y. (July 10, 2023) – Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected its two independent franchised Owner/Operators in preparation for its two new Capital Region restaurants slated to open later this summer. Scott Payne will serve as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Clifton Park Center, located at 304 Clifton Park Ctr Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Will Potts will serve as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A North Greenbush, located at 502 North Greenbush Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve. Both Payne and Potts will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses. Together, the two Operators bring nearly two decades of restaurant experience to the area.

Payne’s path to Clifton Park
Called to join the Marine Corps, Payne served as a pilot in a wide variety of assignments around the world for over twenty years. With a heart for service and operational excellence, Payne then pursued the path of becoming a Chick-fil-A Operator. He most recently served as the Operator of Chick-fil-A Purcellville in Purcellville, Virginia, where he was deeply involved in caring for the community both in and outside of the restaurant. Passionate about the opportunity to bring that intentional level of care to a new market, Payne is thrilled for his family to now live in the Capital Region, where his wife grew up and attended college.

Potts’ journey to North Greenbush
Originally hailing from Mississippi, Potts’s Chick-fil-A journey started as a Team Member while attending college in Georgia. After graduation, Potts continued his career with the restaurant company, where he joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program and supported dozens of restaurant openings across the country. He then moved to Cheektowaga, New York, where he served as the General Manager of Chick-fil-A Cheektowaga. He looks forward to continuing to grow the Chick-fil-A brand in Upstate New York as the Operator of Chick-fil-A North Greenbush alongside his wife, Kendall, where they welcomed their first child this summer.
“I am so grateful to plant roots in Rensselaer, which has been so welcoming to me and my family,” said Potts. “I look forward to sharing our great-tasting food and signature hospitality, and the ways that we will have a positive influence on everyone who comes into contact with our restaurant.”
Caring for the Capital Region
In celebration of the Chick-fil-A Clifton Park Center and Chick-fil-A North Greenbush openings, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 on behalf of each new restaurant, totaling $50,000, to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, a certified member of Feeding America.

These two new locally owned and operated restaurants will add approximately 200 jobs to the Capital Region. Delicious food, outstanding customer service
Chick-fil-A is known for creating a welcoming, remarkable restaurant experience and serving customers great-tasting food made with high-quality ingredients, including the original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich. Made with a real, whole, boneless breast of chicken with no added fillers, the breaded chicken is pressure cooked in fully-refined peanut oil. Chick-fil-A was one of the first in the industry to eliminate chicken raised with antibiotics to ensure guests have an option for high-quality food on the go.
To complement the great-tasting chicken, fresh produce is delivered to Chick-fil-A restaurants up to six times a week for the best quality and flavor. The fresh ingredients are raised and grown by farmers who share the company's elevated quality and safety standards, so guests feel good about their meals.
Our Drive-Thru experience
Chick-fil-A restaurant Team Members will greet customers in the drive-thru line in-person and will take each guest’s orders on a tablet. As the order-taker walks the line, another restaurant Team Member will come to the customer’s car to take payment, allowing vehicles to move through more quickly than they do at a traditional speaker box drive-thru. To ensure restaurant Team Members working in the drive-thru line are comfortable in any weather, Chick-fil-A partnered with clothing brands that design cooling vests and moisture-wicking uniforms for the summer and thermal options for the winter.
