Our lemonade is a customer favorite. Turns out, it's also the perfect base for making your own herbal infusions at home.

After moving to the mainland to pursue a master’s degree from Cornell University and working in corporate America, Enrique Questell Pereira is excited to be back in his hometown as the new Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A La Rambla.

Ponce native Enrique Questell Pereira looks forward to creating jobs and community impact as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A La Rambla, the second Chick-fil-A® restaurant in Ponce and the company’s sixth location in Puerto Rico.

Embracing his island heritage

Enrique was born at Hospital Damas and received his childhood education at the nearby Caribbean School – an area that holds a special place in his heart. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at the University of Puerto Rico and then moved to Ithaca, New York, where he received a master’s degree in systems engineering.

Shortly after moving to the U.S. for an internship with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Enrique had his first Chick-fil-A experience in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

“I was immediately struck by the genuine care and warmth,” recalls Enrique. “I experienced the delicious food and was offered my first complimentary beverage refill. This memorable moment introduced me to Chick-fil-A's exceptional hospitality and I still remember how that simple gesture made me a fan of the brand.”

Despite this positive introduction to Chick-fil-A in 2013, it would be almost 10 years before Enrique decided to pursue the opportunity to become an Owner-Operator of a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

During that time, he built a successful career with Accenture and Restaurant Brands International before moving back to Puerto Rico in 2020 while supporting a social enterprise founded by Red Ventures, which had a mission of bringing high-quality technology and marketing jobs to the island. He later joined the Department of Education of Puerto Rico before making the transition to become the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A La Rambla, which is slated to open in summer 2024.

A family affair

When Chick-fil-A La Rambla opens its doors, his family’s presence in his Restaurant will be strong. His wife, Glorimar, will serve as the Restaurant’s Marketing Director, while his daughter, Gianna, inspired one of the Restaurant’s community impact focus areas: functional diversity.

“Unknown to us before her birth, Gianna was born with Down syndrome and has inspired us to drive change for individuals with functional diversity,” explains Enrique.

During his time living on the mainland, he and his wife held several fundraisers and participated in multiple events to help improve the services provided to individuals with Down syndrome – and they have continued that commitment by organizing events and raising awareness in Puerto Rico.

“These events help create community and support for people who raise children with special needs,” he says.

Outside of their work for Chick-fil-A and their advocacy efforts, Enrique and his family enjoy spending quality time together exploring the outdoors, visiting local beaches and traveling.

Strengthening his hometown

In addition to raising awareness of and advocating for functional diversity, Enrique is also passionate about supporting education and local healthcare in Puerto Rico.

“We plan to formalize relationships with schools and local nonprofits to organize events and insert ourselves in the conversation to improve current conditions for these populations,” he says.

Enrique values the importance of investing in the community, and believes in putting people above profits so his team can show care to Guests, and his Restaurant can help have a positive impact on the Ponce community.

“Having a platform to directly contribute to Puerto Rico’s recovery is important to me,” explains Enrique. “By providing quality jobs and collaborating on initiatives centered on improving conditions in the functional diversity community, K-12 education and health, I’m excited by the opportunity my Chick-fil-A restaurant has to make a positive impact on the Ponce community and beyond.”
