2025 Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards Applications Accepted
March 1-May 1, 2024

Created in 2015 to honor S. Truett Cathy’s legacy of care, inspiration and service, the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® program provides grants to celebrate and support nonprofit organizations making deep, lasting impacts in their communities.

Here’s what you need to know about the 2025 application and awards cycle – and how to create a strong application.

About the 2025 Application Process
Applications for the 2025 True Inspiration Awards program will be accepted March 1-May 1, 2024. Interested organizations should have priorities that align with Chick-fil-A, Inc.'s four corporate social responsibility (CSR) focus areas:
• Caring for People
• Caring for Others through Food
• Caring for Communities
• Caring for our Planet

Grants range from $30,000 to $350,000 and will be awarded to 56 organizations. Four winners will be selected for each category above, in addition to:
• 30 regional winners (based on geographic location in the United States)
• 5 global recipients (specifically for nonprofits located in Puerto Rico, Canada and the U.K.)
• 5 Chick-fil-A subsidiary honorees nominated by the General Managers of supplier facilities (Chick-fil-A Supply, Bay Center Foods, etc.)

While there is no requirement to be nominated by a local Chick-fil-A® restaurant Owner-Operator, a nomination can help improve the odds of receiving a grant because the nominated nonprofit can then be considered for the regional winners category, which has the greatest number of award recipients.

Organizations that have previously applied and not received a grant are encouraged to apply again – and past grant recipients may reapply for additional funding after two years.

Three Tips for a Strong Application
Here are a few ways to help make your nonprofit’s True Inspiration Awards application stand out:

1. Provide as much detail as possible.
• Detailed information helps create greater understanding of the nonprofit’s work and impact. While numbers aren’t everything, sharing statistics or data that objectively shows growth or quantifiable community impact can help. Share the history of the organization and future plans for positive impact. Include the progress the organization is making toward achieving its mission and vision.

2. Include stories that showcase impact.
• Anecdotes that demonstrate impact and create an emotional appeal can help round-out an application.

• Include videos to help tell your story. Don’t stress about the video quality or your editing skills (a cell phone video is fine); instead, focus on capturing content that shares a story of impact.

Transparency and authenticity are key.

3. Allocate extra time to prepare materials and complete the application.
• Allow several hours to complete the application, and aim to submit everything a few days before the deadline in case you encounter any unexpected challenges.

• Collect statistics, organizational policies (i.e., whistleblower policy, conflict of interest policy, etc.) and supporting photos and video materials before beginning your application.

How to Apply
From March 1 to May 1, eligible nonprofit organizations can apply by filling out this application form. Organizations may also be nominated by local Owner-Operators who wish to support local organizations in their community.

One exemplary organization nominated by a local Owner-Operator will be selected as the S. Truett Cathy Honoree and the recipient of a $350,000 grant. The S. Truett Cathy Honoree embodies the generous, innovative spirit of Chick-fil-A’s late founder – pioneering new ways to solve problems and serve others. Read more about the 2024 S. Truett Cathy Honoree, Joy Meadows, here.

Since its inception, the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards program has awarded more than $27 million to over 300 organizations across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. In 2024 alone, True Inspiration Award grant recipients received a total of $5.48 million, honoring 51 outstanding nonprofits across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, as well as in Canada.
