This southern specialty with international roots remains unchanged

Our lemonade is a customer favorite. Turns out, it's also the perfect base for making your own herbal infusions at home.

 

In 1995, the phrase “Eat Mor Chikin” first appeared on a billboard in Atlanta, GA. Painted by a pair of mischievous cows, the phrase kicked off one of the most recognized advertising campaigns in Chick-fil-A® history.

Fast forward to today, the boisterous bovines are still at it, finding creative ways to encourage humans to put down their burgers and pick up chicken instead.

Who are the Chick-fil-A Cows?

Since that day in 1995, the Cows have been a part of the Chick-fil-A story, spreading mischief and fun wherever they go. From billboards to buildings, TV to radio, the Cows will stop at nothing to broadcast their message of self-preservation.  

Over the decades, we’ve seen these adventurous cows parachute onto football fields, launch 90,000 feet into space, and partake in countless special moo-ments with customers. 

As seen in the form of mini plush cows, homemade Halloween costumes and as a 40-foot tall, 36,000-pound statue in the Atlanta Braves' baseball stadium, this herd of Holsteins have made their way into the hearts of guests as more than just a mascot. They are part of the beloved brand itself.

Whimsical & playful

When Truett Cathy opened the Dwarf Grill in 1946, his heart for hospitality created an upbeat and welcoming environment that has now translated into thousands of restaurants throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. He was known for always seeking out unexpected opportunities for encouragement and laughter. When the Cows came along, almost 30 years after the first Chick-fil-A restaurant opened in 1967, it felt like a natural fit for the groundwork that Truett had laid for the brand. Spots or not, the Cows share in the mission to lighten the mood and spread some joy.

1995: The Cows commandeer their first billboard.

1996: The Cows air their first radio commercial.

1997: The Cows first appear on TV.

1997: The first Cow costume debuts.

1998: The first Plush Cow is produced.

2002: The Cows think big and create their first “Giant Wall” ad in Atlanta, GA, where Chick-fil-A, Inc. is headquartered.

2003: The Cows star in their first commercial alongside the fictional restaurant, Circus Burger — the Cows’ burger-flipping nemesis who must be stopped from expansion.

2007: The Cows are inducted into Madison Avenue’s Advertising Walk of Fame.

2008: Climbing to new heights, the Cows paint their first water tower.

2014: The Cows introduce new grilled chicken with a billboard.

2019: The Cows infiltrate a Circus Burger boardroom during a staff meeting, encouraging fans and the press to put down their burgers.

2022: The Cows go virtual. Chick-fil-A Cow GIFs are introduced and animated versions of the charismatic Cows are available for digital use.

2023: The Cows star in “Code Moo” and “Tha Billboard” short.  

With the Cows’ nemesis, Circus Burger, serving up more burgers than ever, Chick-fil-A's bovine friends issued a Code Moo for America. All summer long, Cow fans all over the country helped the herd, received food rewards, and got to see the Cows star in their first animated short.
