Love at first bite: Finding love at Chick-fil-A®

Our lemonade is a customer favorite. Turns out, it's also the perfect base for making your own herbal infusions at home.

How a young Utah couple met and fell in love at their local Chick-fil-A restaurant

Brenna Huff met her mom for lunch at the Chick-fil-A® restaurant in Draper, Utah, on Oct. 7, 2019. By the time she left, she'd met her future husband.

That previous weekend, Chick-fil-A Utah restaurants gifted free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich rewards to those attending the Utah Jazz NBA basketball home game in nearby Salt Lake City. Zach Huff, who was at the game, stopped in to redeem his reward offer that day. He was eating with his uncle and dad on a lunch break from their job installing laminate flooring when Brenna and her mom walked in. They caught one another’s eye.

“After we ordered, I noticed a cute guy, so I obviously had to sit in the booth directly across from him so he’d notice me,” Brenna recalled.

They were facing each other during their meal, making eye contact between bites.

“I couldn’t help feeling that I needed to go talk to her,” Zach said, “but I was so nervous and had no idea what to say.”

He mustered up the courage to stop by Brenna’s table on his way out. “He asked if he could have my number,” Brenna recalled. “My mom interrupted him and asked, ‘Well, don’t you want to know her name first?’”

The pair shared a bashful chuckle, then names and a brief chat. Brenna gave Zach her contact info before parting ways. That next weekend, they went on their first date.

“And I’d say the rest is history,” Brenna said, “but there were so many happy memories we made together that I want to remember forever.”

Another visit, another milestone

Five months later, Zach and Brenna returned to Chick-fil-A Draper. They sat in the same booth where their first encounter took place to enjoy an Icedream® dessert. Zach asked Brenna to be his girlfriend, and they committed to pursuing a future together.

On Sept. 5, 2020, Zach took Brenna back to Chick-fil-A Draper for dinner, hours before popping the question. She said yes, and they were married two months later.

“Planning our wedding was a dream, and we knew we had to somehow incorporate Chick-fil-A Draper into it, since that is where it all began,” Brenna explained. “We decided to have them cater our luncheon after our ceremony, because without Chick-fil-A we definitely wouldn't be married.”

They celebrated their first anniversary at Chick-fil-A Draper and plan to factor their special spot into many more life milestones. “We both felt a special connection there two-and-a-half years ago,” Zach says. “That’s what keeps drawing us back there.”

Brenna agrees. “Looking back, I think I knew I was going to marry him that day. And amidst all the chaos of our lives, we still make sure to eat at our favorite place to remember where our love story began.”
