Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes With Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
PHOENIX (September 18, 2023) – Chick-fil-A’s newest restaurant will begin serving the Surprise community on Thursday, September 21. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Drew Polanycia as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A 303 & Waddell.
Located at 16525 W Waddell Rd., Chick-fil-A 303 & Waddell will be open for drive-thru and outdoor dining from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. As a drive-thru focused restaurant, Chick-fil-A 303 & Waddell will not provide indoor dine-in services, alternatively, guests can enjoy an outdoor patio with 28 seats. Guests of Chick-fil-A 303 & Waddell can also place an order for pickup or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase which can be used to redeem available rewards. In Surprise, Polanycia will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Originally from Lakeland, Fla., Polanycia and his family are no strangers to the Phoenix area, having previously lived in Goodyear, Ariz. a decade ago. A lifelong fan of the brand, Polanycia brings with him substantial leadership, business and customer service skills after holding a management position in the retail industry. Polanycia, along with his wife and four children, recently returned to the Valley to plant roots in Surprise, Ariz. and look forward to cultivating a thriving community that is built on gratitude and committed to excellence.
“I’m so excited to be back in Surprise as the town offers so much opportunity and optimism for new businesses,” said Polanycia. “Chick-fil-A has played such a large role in my life, from my first taste of the iconic waffle fries in the mall food court as a teenager to taking both of my girls on Father/Daughter date nights at our local Chick-fil-A. I feel so blessed to be able to continue my career with this brand.”
Caring for the Surprise Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of St. Mary’s Food Bank, a certified member of Feeding America, in honor of the new restaurant, to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A 303 & Waddell is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Surprise area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Polanycia’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations and Arizona Owner/Operators have created over 448,000 meals from donations, with the number continuing to grow.
Our Drive-Thru Experience
The locally owned and operated restaurant is focused on expediting and elevating the experience for guests with innovation, speed and hospitality through the drive-thru focused restaurant model. Chick-fil-A 303 & Waddell Team Members will welcome customers face-to-face in the drive-thru line to take each guest’s orders on a tablet. As the order-taker walks the line, another restaurant Team Member will come to the customer’s car to take payment, allowing vehicles to move through more quickly than they do at a traditional speaker box drive-thru. To ensure restaurant Team Members working in the drive-thru line are comfortable in warm weather, Chick-fil-A, Inc. partnered with clothing brands that design cooling vests and moisture-wicking uniforms.
