Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A 601 West 181st Street is locally owned and operated by Al Cuevas, who is from the Dominican Republic. Later in his childhood, his family moved to Brooklyn and would often spend time in Washington Heights building community.

Since experiencing his first bite of Chick-fil-A during a college baseball tournament in Florida, he has admired Chick-fil-A’s culture of making a meal more than just food. After graduating from Long Island University Brooklyn, where he earned both his Bachelor’s in Management and an MBA, Cuevas entered the financial services industry in New York City, where he worked for nearly two decades at several of the largest banks. With a heart for hospitality, Cuevas was inspired to make a career change and most recently served as a Director for Chick-fil-A 1536 3rd Avenue in New York City. Alongside his wife Mariellen and two children, Cuevas is looking forward to sharing great-tasting food and signature hospitality in Washington Heights.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity to open the first Chick-fil-A in Washington Heights, a vibrant community that has been special to me since my childhood,” said Cuevas. “It is my hope that our restaurant serves as a place where our Team Members and guests feel so welcomed and cared for.”
