Restaurant to Bring Approximately 140 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (Feb. 21, 2022) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant is slated to open for business in Battle Creek on Feb. 24. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Tyler DeKoekkoek as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Battle Creek. DeKoekkoek will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 140 full- and part-time Team Members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Chick-fil-A Battle Creek is located at 6083 B Dr. N, and will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Chick-fil-A remains committed to serving guests safely. Chick-fil-A Battle Creek will open with dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out services. In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100® Grand Opening celebration, Chick-fil-A Battle Creek will be surprising 100 local heroes making an impact in the community with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Kalamazoo area to aid in the fight against hunger.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A Battle Creek is locally owned and operated by Tyler DeKoekkoek, who grew up just 25 mintues away, and even played against Battle Creek during high school sports. DeKoekkoek’s Chick-fil-A career started in Wheaton, Ill. in 2015, where he tried Chick-fil-A for the first time, and was offered a job the same day. Hired as the Catering Director for Chick-fil-A Wheaton, DeKoekkoek later became the Drive-Thru Director. He spent the past few years serving as Director of Operations at Chick-fil-A Grand Rapids South before being selected as Operator of Chick-fil-A Battle Creek, which he is excited to open alongside his wife, Sarah, and their three children.
