HOUSTON (August 21, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Cypress community on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected David Oakes as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Fry Road. 

Located at 10802 Fry Road, Chick-fil-A Fry Road is a multi-lane drive-thru focused location that will be open for drive-thru, outdoor seating or carry out from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Fry Road can order in the drive-thru, at the walk-up window, or place an order for pickup on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. Guests can visit chick-fil-a.com/delivery to view delivery options in their area. 
 
Chick-fil-A Fry Road is hiring full and part-time Team Members for a variety of positions including back-of-house, front-of-house, leadership and more. Applicants interested in applying or learning more can text “COW” to 281-612-7724.  

The Fry Road restaurant joins over 125 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Houston market and over 400 restaurants in Texas.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.  

In Cypress, Oakes will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 125 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.  

Oakes started his first job with Chick-fil-A during his senior year of high school in 1976 as a Team Member at Chick-fil-A Cordova Mall in Pensacola, Florida. He was later selected as part of the inaugural group of Chick-fil-A business interns in 1981 and was inspired to grow his career with the restaurant company because of the founder S. Truett Cathy’s leadership and focus on investing in others. Oakes has been an Operator for over 40 years and has overseen a dozen restaurant openings and operated five different locations across Houston, including Chick-fil-A Copperfield, which was the second free-standing restaurant to open in Houston in 1994.  

Oakes and his wife, Carol, have lived in the Cypress area for 28 years. After having their first four children, Oakes and his wife adopted six kids from China over the course of eight years. In fact, six of his 10 kids have joined the “family business,” working at one of his restaurants at some point as Team Members or leaders. In addition to Chick-fil-A Fry Road, Oakes will continue to operate Chick-fil-A Cypress Towne Lake, located just a couple of miles down the road.

I can’t wait to invest in the new Chick-fil-A Fry Road team and deliver an exceptional guest experience with our multi-lane drive-thru restaurant design.”  

Caring for the Cypress Community  
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Houston area, including the Houston Food Bank, to aid in the fight against hunger.  
 
In addition, Chick-fil-A Fry Road is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Cypress area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.  

Oakes’ restaurant will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits to feed those in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
