New Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community,
Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (Oct. 9, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Hagerstown community on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Randy Scott as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Sharpsburg Pike. Scott has been the Operator of Chick-fil-A Hagerstown on Wesel Boulevard since its opening in June 2001, and he is excited about bringing another restaurant to the community.
Located at 10510 Vida Drive, Chick-fil-A Sharpsburg Pike will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
The Sharpsburg Pike restaurant joins more than 90 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Washington, D.C. market.
Locally Owned and Operated
As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner-Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In Hagerstown, Scott will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members at Chick-fil-A Sharpsburg Pike in addition to the 120 employees at Chick-fil-A Hagerstown, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Scott began his career with Chick-fil-A in 1991 when he joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program. After two years in the program, he was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Ballston Common in Arlington, Virginia. He has served as the Operator of four different Chick-fil-A restaurants in the D.C. market, including Chick-fil-A Hagerstown, which he will continue to operate alongside Chick-fil-A Sharpsburg Pike. Scott brings nearly 35 years of experience and more than 22 years of investment in the Hagerstown community to the Sharpsburg Pike restaurant.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without Chick-fil-A's investment in me and my career,” said Scott. “I was not only looking for an opportunity to start my own business, but was ultimately driven by the idea of investing in my Team Members and building a team rooted in dedication and heart. I am thrilled for the chance to impact more Team Members through developing leaders, creating additional career opportunities and doubling our efforts to build a better community.”
Caring for the Hagerstown Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Washington, D.C. area to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Sharpsburg Pike is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Hagerstown area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
In addition to Chick-fil-A Hagerstown, Chick-fil-A Sharpsburg Pike will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 20 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
