Restaurant Brings Approximately 120 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Meals for a Year
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (OCT. 24, 2022) – The first Chick-fil-A® restaurant in North Country New York will open in Watertown on Thursday, Oct. 27. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Merrit Brady as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Watertown.
Located at 1290 Arsenal St., Chick-fil-A Watertown will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Watertown can place an order for pickup or dine-in on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, guests receive points on every qualifying purchase which can be used to redeem available rewards. In Watertown, Brady will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 120 full- and part-time Team Members, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
“In metro areas like New York City, we see the same food delivery workers come through nearly every day of the week, several times a day, and how taking an extra second to warm-up between deliveries or offering a glass of water helps to fuel them on for their shift. The food delivery community helps to power our businesses, and this is just our small way of showing appreciation for all they do,” said Jared Caldwell, a Chick-fil-A® restaurant Owner/Operator in New York City at 1536 3rd Avenue in the Upper East Side.
After graduating from Johnson and Wales University in Charleston, S.C. with a Culinary Arts degree, Brady worked as an Executive Sous Chef at a local restaurant in Charleston before owning a catering company for 16 years alongside his wife, Catherine. Brady comes from a family of Chick-fil-A enthusiasts, including his uncle who currently serves as an Owner/Operator in Danville, Va. Attracted to the brand’s values, culture and culinary approach, Brady applied to become an Operator and gained hands-on experience by serving on the leadership team at Chick-fil-A Ashley Crossing in Charleston. Brady holds the North Country area near and dear to his heart, as he and his wife would travel to the area frequently while starting their family. Falling in love with the community-driven area, Brady now proudly calls Watertown home, and he looks forward to making Chick-fil-A Watertown a regular road-trip stop for other families, as it always was for him.
“It’s my greatest pleasure to introduce Chick-fil-A’s great-tasting food and signature hospitality to the North Country New York area,” said Brady. “My goal at Chick-fil-A Watertown is to become the area’s most caring company, so I look forward to positively impacting the community by building relationships with local schools and charitable organizations.”

In honor of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America on behalf of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the North Country New York area to aid in the fight against hunger. Chick-fil-A Watertown is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Watertown area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.
Brady’s restaurant will be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ Program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need.
