MIAMI and HOMESTEAD, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2024) – Chick-fil-A® is furthering its investment in the greater Miami area with four new locally owned and operated restaurants set to open this fall and early next year. These new restaurants are slated to open from Fall 2024 through early 2025 and will create more than 500 local job opportunities for the area.
• Chick-fil-A Coconut Palm is located at 11250 SW 248th St. in Homestead.
• Chick-fil-A Homestead will be located at 3200 NE 8th St. in Homestead.
• Chick-fil-A Cutler Bay will be located at 18240 S. Dixie Hwy in Miami.
• Chick-fil-A Pinecrest will be located at 13001 S. Dixie Hwy in Miami.
The new restaurants join more than 35 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Miami-Ft. Lauderdale market.
Locally Owned and Operated
Each new restaurant will be locally owned and operated. Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.
Chick-fil-A Coconut Palm – Owner-Operator Drew Kelly
Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Drew Kelly as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Coconut Palm. Kelly’s journey with Chick-fil-A began as a restaurant Team Member, his first official job. Eager to further hone his skills, Kelly then joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program where he helped open 11 restaurants across the country as Interim Manager and Grand Opening Supervisor.
Chick-fil-A Homestead – Owner-Operator Tyler Abrahamsen
Abrahamsen began his Chick-fil-A journey in 2018 as a Team Member. Inspired by his father and uncle, both Chick-fil-A Operators, Abrahamsen joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program in 2021. He spent the next three years developing his leadership skills, gaining a deeper understanding of the business and connecting with Guests in the communities he served.
Chick-fil-A Cutler Bay – Owner-Operator Oliver Moore
Moore, a West Point graduate, served for 14 years in the United States Army. When seeking a new career path, he aimed for an opportunity aligned with his goal of making a positive impact in the community. Encouraged by a local Owner-Operator who is a close friend, Moore pursued a career with Chick-fil-A.
Chick-fil-A Pinecrest – Owner-Operator Karyna Kaufmann
Kaufmann, a West Palm Beach native, began working at Chick-fil-A at the age of 15. After years of professional growth, she aspired to open her own restaurant and offer others similar development opportunities. To work toward this goal, Kaufmann joined the Chick-fil-A® Leadership Development Program in 2015. By 2017, she achieved her goal, becoming the local Owner-Operator of a restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, and later at a location in the Dadeland Mall.
Caring for the Miami-Dade Community
• In celebration of the new restaurant openings, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate a combined $100,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts through its partner, Feeding South Florida. Since 2020, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has contributed a total of $425,000 to Feeding South Florida.
• All four restaurants are planning to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 186,000 meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from the participating Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the Miami area.
• Over the past four years, the Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® grant program has awarded $175,000 to support Miami-based nonprofit organizations making a tangible impact in the community.
