How local Owner-Operators and Chick-fil-A, Inc. serve those who have served
Those who serve our country deserve our ongoing respect and support. That’s why Chick-fil-A, Inc. and local Chick-fil-A® Owner-Operators serve active military members, veterans and their families in a variety of ways.
1. Providing meals.
In 2023, 5,000 meals were provided to the West Point Association of Graduates for their annual Thayer Walk event and 600 Be Our Guest cards (redeemable for a complimentary Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich) were shared with the West Point Cadet Finance Club. Chick-fil-A, Inc. also fed 5,000 U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen in Annapolis, Maryland, sponsored lunch for U.S. Marines completing the Quantico 12K in Virginia, and donated food for those participating in the Feed a Vet 5K in Woodbridge, Virginia. In 2024, other efforts have included providing free sandwiches for the U.S. Coast Guard of Georgia.
2. Hosting military appreciation activations.
At Chick-fil-A® restaurants from coast to coast, local Owner-Operators activate in a variety of ways to salute military heroes. For example, Chick-fil-A at Bald Hill Road in Warwick, Rhode Island, invited active military personnel and veterans to enjoy a free Original Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich on Veterans Day, while Chick-fil-A restaurants across San Diego, California, came together to host a Military Appreciation Night – featuring live music, family-friendly activities, raffle prizes, and free food. Many Chick-fil-A restaurants also display “Missing Man Tables” on Memorial Day, honoring fallen soldiers by setting an empty table in remembrance of them.
3. Teaming up with nonprofits and local businesses.
From Dallas-area Owner-Operators hosting a food drive for Homeless Veterans Services of Dallas to Atlanta-area Owner-Operators partnering with Atlanta United and Soldiers’ Angels™ to distribute 75 pounds of essential food items, there are countless examples of how Chick-fil-A restaurants help veterans and their families who are experiencing hardships.
4. Supporting scholarships.
In 2023, Chick-fil-A, Inc. donated $250,000 to the Folds of Honor Foundation to provide 50 scholarships to families of America’s fallen or disabled military and first responders.
5. Sharing notes of encouragement.
At the Chick-fil-A Support Center: Buffington in Atlanta in May 2024, Chick-fil-A, Inc. provided postcards to Chick-fil-A Backstage Tour Guests and other campus visitors so they could write a note of appreciation or encouragement to active military members. At the conclusion of the campaign, 500 messages were shared with the USO for distribution to active-duty service members.
