Guest interaction leads restaurant to focus on care for Deaf community
Inspired by an interaction with a Deaf guest, Chick-fil-A Manahawkin Owner-Operator Matt Baals and his team started hosting Deaf Chat Nights twice per month in October 2022. The chat brings together both Deaf and hearing members of the community who communicate in American Sign Language over a meal.
