Restaurant Brings Approximately 100 Full- and Part-Time Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
NEWINGTON, N.H. (Aug. 29, 2024) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant will begin serving the Newington community on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024. Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Mike Vonhof as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Newington.
Located at 2060 Woodbury Ave., Chick-fil-A Newington will be open for dine-in, drive-thru, carry out, and catering pick-up from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The restaurant will also offer Mobile Thru, a fully dedicated lane in the drive-thru where Guests can pick up orders placed ahead of time on the Chick-fil-A App.
The Newington restaurant is the first in the Seacoast Region and the fourth in the state of New Hampshire.
Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.
In Newington, Vonhof will be responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the Newington community’s needs.
Vonhof is excited to return to the Seacoast Region, where he and his family previously lived for a decade and where his first two children were born. Following a career in the retail industry, Vonhof was reintroduced to Chick-fil-A in 2015 when his oldest son became a Team Member at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Delaware. After getting to know the restaurant’s local Owner-Operator and following an impactful visit to the Chick-fil-A Support Center in Atlanta, Vonhof realized his own desire to become a local Owner-Operator and the opportunity to make a positive impact on people and communities.
After serving as the local Owner-Operator of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Delaware for the past five years, Vonhof is thrilled to return to the Seacoast Region to open Chick-fil-A Newington. The new restaurant will be a family business at its core: Each of his three children will serve in leadership roles at the new restaurant.
“The Seacoast Region is rich with history, natural beauty and so many brilliant, hard-working people, and I cannot wait to begin serving these wonderful neighbors,” Vonhof said. “Chick-fil-A Newington will be a true family business, and we see the restaurant as an extension of our home. In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has donated $25,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts of New Hampshire Food Bank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
Vonhof’s restaurant will plan to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 25 million meals have been created from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations from over 2,000 Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Newington is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Newington area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
