New restaurant to feature dual drive-thru and updated design

SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 9, 2024) – Chick-fil-A® Northwoods, formally known as Chick-fil-A Stone Oak, will reopen for business at a new location in San Antonio on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The new restaurant features an expanded drive-thru and overall footprint updates designed to enhance the Guest and Team Member experience. Juan Garza will continue to serve as the independent franchised local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Northwoods, which has served the San Antonio community for nearly 26 years.

Located 18120 US Hwy 281 North, Chick-fil-A Northwoods will be open for dine-in, carry-out and drive-thru from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The approximately 5,000 square-foot restaurant will feature dual drive-thru lanes and additional parking spaces to accommodate Guests. Chick-fil-A Northwoods will also feature an inviting dining area with 68 indoor seats, along with 26 outdoor seats and a designated pick-up counter.

The Northwoods restaurant joins more than 40 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider San Antonio market.

Locally Owned and Operated
Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is essential to how the restaurant serves others. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are owned and operated by a single individual, which means Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are small business owners, not passive investors, who work in their restaurants side by side with their Team Members each day.

In San Antonio, Garza is responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing approximately 100 full- and part-time Team Members, serving Guests, cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses, and tailoring philanthropic efforts to meet the community’s needs. The new restaurant location will welcome 20 new Team Members upon reopening.

Garza first began his career with Chick-fil-A as the Director of Operations for Chick-fil-A Schertz in 2014. With previous experience in operations for collegiate sports programs, education and full-time ministry, Garza prides himself on creating an environment for teamwork and fostering community engagement. After learning the ins and outs of the business, Garza was selected as the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Eagle Pass in 2016 before relocating in 2022 to Chick-fil-A Stone Oak, now known as Chick-fil-A Northwoods. Since then, he has provided delicious food and exceptional hospitality to the San Antonio community.

“The opportunity to bring delicious food and signature hospitality to a new and improved space brings our team great joy,” said Garza. “I am excited to further develop my Team Members and cultivate an environment of true teamwork while bringing our signature hospitality to life for our Guests.”

Local Investment in the San Antonio Community
The Chick-fil-A business is built to add positive impact beyond profit, including giving back to local communities. Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators are empowered to support the neighborhoods they serve with a key focus on hunger, education, and specific community needs.

Chick-fil-A local Owner-Operators strive to hire, develop and retain top talent, helping future leaders optimize their skills and providing pathways for personal and professional developing in a welcoming, purpose-driven environment. A career at Chick-fil-A offers a wide range of benefits, including hands-on training and mentoring, competitive pay and benefits, the chance to apply for scholarships to support continued education, and the flexibility to thrive in and outside of work. Chick-fil-A’s local Owner-Operators are committed to preparing their team for the future, wherever it may lead. To learn more about careers at Chick-fil-A, click here.
