Restaurant Brings Approximately 110 Full- and Part-Time New Jobs to Community, Honors 100 Local Heroes with Free Chick-fil-A Entrées for a Year
PASADENA, Calif. (June 15, 2023) – A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant begins serving the Pasadena community on Thursday, June 22. Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Adaobi Gwacham as the independent franchised Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Lake & Boylston.
Located at 790 N Lake Ave., Chick-fil-A Lake & Boylston will be open for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Guests of Chick-fil-A Lake & Boylston can place an order for pickup, dine-in or delivery on the Chick-fil-A® App or online. When joining the Chick-fil-A One® tiered membership program, Chick-fil-A One members receive points on every qualifying purchase, which can be used to redeem available rewards. The Chick-fil-A Lake & Boylston restaurant joins more than 100 other Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the wider Los Angeles market.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in their restaurants and communities, Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators proudly reside in the communities in which they serve.
In Pasadena, Gwacham is responsible for all day-to-day activities of the business, including employing a total of approximately 250 full- and part-time Team Members across both of her restaurants, serving guests and cultivating relationships with local organizations and businesses.
Gwacham was raised in Nigeria and immigrated to the U.S. in 1999, settling in Chino Hills, California. During high school, she was recruited to join Chick-fil-A Chino Hills as a Team Member. Gwacham held several roles during her six years at the restaurant, working her way up to serve as the general manager. She also supported other nearby Chick-fil-A restaurants in various training roles. After graduating from college, she took on a new assignment with Chick-fil-A from 2010 to 2014, working around the country to open new restaurants. In 2014, Gwacham became the Operator of Chick-fil-A E Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena. For more than eight years, she has been committed to the role, even earning a master’s degree in leadership in 2021 to enhance her expertise.
As the first in her family to graduate from high school and college, Gwacham sees her business as an opportunity to impact the lives of her Team Members and serve her community. Gwacham will continue to operate Chick-fil-A E. Colorado Blvd. in addition to Chick-fil-A Lake & Boylston.
“Growing up, I never saw role models like myself, and it is very special to share this personal and professional milestone with an amazing brand like Chick-fil-A,” said Gwacham. “I am appreciative of the opportunity to further develop and inspire my Team Members to become servant leaders for our guests and community.”
Caring for the Pasadena Community
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Los Angeles area to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Lake & Boylston is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Pasadena area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year.
Gwacham’s restaurant plans to participate in Chick-fil-A Shared Table®, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need. To date, more than 18 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
